Knowing that PK has a rabid fanbase, it is extremely irresponsible and selfish to talk about releasing personal information, knowing it could bring other people harm. And if PK doesn't know it could bring other people harm, then they are foolish beyond all reason. Frankly I was inclined to believe PK, but this information is very disheartening.

If you look again, you may notice that we never once talked about releasing Pengo’s personal information. We have no interest in doing it, threatening it, or even thinking about it. Marl mentioned it in a private email to Pengo, because having a name and address is sort of useful for taking legal action — the thing he was talking about.

Nobody ever threatened Pengo with doxxing.

Here is what actually happened.

1. Pengo published the email containing Marl’s message:

<Marl> also please let pengo know that mel will pursue legal action if he keeps posting things like he has been posting about her/me/eevee/us
<Marl> she knows his name, address, and his dad’s name and address

2. Some uninvolved third party made a post containing this quote:

PK … has threatened to DOX Pengo without his permission

As far as I can tell, this is the first mention of it. Pengo later reblogged this post without comment.

3. Pengo makes a post about getting death threats, and says:

the importance of not threatening to doxx someone! (as in, reveal personal information including name and address.. especially while noting that you have family information as well when the family had nothing to do with it!)

From there, it was taken as gospel truth. For all the emphasis on “proof”, Tumblr has had no problem perpetuating this complete fabrication.

And for whatever it’s worth, it should come as no surprise to anyone that we know Pengo’s address — his very first post about all this mentioned that I shipped him a laptop.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Oh, and whoever is threatening Pengo: what the fucking hell is wrong with you? There are precisely zero circumstances in which that is even remotely acceptable. I asked multiple times that Pengo not be antagonized, so you pull a stunt like this? Fuck you. You are not helping anyone.
