Being an adult is hard
when i did my taxes this year i started out owing like 5 digits and had to figure out how to whittle it down from there
over the course of multiple days, having to fight the cheapass tax prep thing i was using

oh jeeze, that’s fuckin’ rough. Why’d you owe so much? I ended up not owing anything but I won’t really get a return either.
haha WELL
instead of money, which would be too easy, i get paid partly in what are effectively minigames
at one point i got a big lump sum all at once and had to pay estimated tax myself, and forgot to mention that on the return, which sort of ballooned how much i owed
also i did some minor retirement fund shenanigans and the tax prep thing got confused and thought i owed $5000 on nothing; figuring out and fixing that took most of the time. in the end i had to figure out which forms i needed and what they needed to look like anyway, then had to trick the software into making that happen
in the end i think i still owed like two grand :V i rarely get refunds haha
