well, i don’t know about “period”, since i doubt you can actually define “sex” in a way that has two outcomes and actually works in all cases
but sure, you can easily argue that gender is a complete fabrication
as are a whole lot of other things we take for granted, so i don’t know if there’s any real insight to be found there
