I don’t think I will ever understand someone’s reasoning for identifying as genderqueer or genderfluid. Essentially it’s the same reason I will never understand how someone can be transgender without dysphoria.
Let’s say you’re born a girl, and you have no sex dysphoria- no problem with your female body. How and why do you think you’re genderqueer, genderfluid or even a boy?
Clearly I know that gender and sex are two different things; but you can be a girl and like boy things.
You can be a girl and be masculine.
You can be a girl and date other girls.
You can be a girl and wear boys clothes some days and makeup on other days.
You can be a girl and have short hair.
You can change your name to whatever the fuck you want.
You can be a girl and not care when people think you’re a boy.
There are people who identify as “genderqueer” and have a female name, body and pronouns. I’m honestly confused as to where the genderqueer part comes in.
You can do all those things and still be a girl. Or you can do the opposite and still be a guy. Just because you don’t fit into the stereotypical gender roles doesn’t mean you’re a whole new gender or in between the two.
yo holmes plenty of people don’t understand how transgender is a thing at all so that’s not a great criterion for whether something exists
but while we’re at it i don’t understand how or why you are defining gender merely by genitals. i mean you say this:
Clearly I know that gender and sex are two different things…
but then you go on to draw a really hard line between someone who wants to transition and someone who feels kind of ambiguous, and put the latter person in a box based on incidental genitalia
Just because you don’t fit into the stereotypical gender roles doesn’t mean you’re a whole new gender or in between the two.
then what the fuck is a “gender” if not defined by “gender roles”??
am i missing something here
PS how are you making fun of labels when “trans” is right in your blog name
