someone tells a funny story about a person who makes a snooty assumption and is thoroughly embarrassed for it

this is usually the sort of thing we universally appreciate as a culture

yet the author apparently suffered enough backlash so as to delete the entire blog temporarily to avoid dealing with it further

i am pretty embarrassed about that, that people would be so tender as to find a way an innocuous story was mocking them and twist it into mocking the speaker

purely out of spite and misplaced pride
