well it’s not like walmart employees keep trying to break into our house to install a christmas tree

but let’s see.  all of us are distant from family (either geographically or emotionally or both) and don’t have a bunch of local friends who are super into christmas either

we’re not really big on tradition (well, tradition we didn’t invent ourselves), and we get each other gifts whenever we feel like it already, so we don’t have too much impetus to do christmasy things

also we keep doing other stuff in december because it’s when both people with desk jobs and people with school can most easily get a bunch of time off: two years ago we had lati and riiko visit and mostly just hung out, last year we were in japan for most of december, and this year we’re moving
