my parents smoked around my sister and me for years when we were kids

according to them they only stopped because we nagged them all the time about it.  (then they started again shortly before i left home.)

that’s a long game and may not work anyway, so in the meantime go with plan B: fuck ‘em, hide your money.  get a cheap lockbox if you absolutely must.  if you’re 18, get a checking account.  if you’re not, find someone outside your family who’ll be willing to get a checking account in your name.
