"a person's satisfaction is defined by their own appreciations and how accomplished they feel, not their impact on history" yeah, nice try there. each person tries to find ways of affirming themselves, but when it is done through identity and not behavior, it always leads to misery. or does he think he just has to leave these asks because he's "above it all"?
i thought it was interesting he said “satisfaction” instead of “worth” or “value”. i’ve known plenty of people who are plenty satisfied toking up and inhaling cheetos all day.
but will they be remembered for it, by anyone? not necessarily in a thousand years, or after they die, but even just tomorrow or an hour from now
leaving some footprints is important to me. they wear away eventually, like everything does, but they linger a bit after i’ve drifted off elsewhere.
i’d already forgotten about that guy until he sent me another ask today. he hadn’t forgotten about me.
