wow thanks i had no idea! maybe you can just play the game for me and tell me how it ends, that would be even better
warning this comic may contain spoilers for majora’s mask
alright the actual complaint here is slightly more nuanced
i am aware that the original game made the inverted song of time extremely easy to miss, and i actually went to tell mel about it as well
but most of the people said this in response to complaints (or at least musings) about the nature of time pressure within the game… as though, if we felt pressured by time at all, then we cannot possibly know about the inverted song of time, because it magically makes that go away!
which is kind of dismissive and annoying
intertwined with that, i can’t seem to say anything about my progress in the game without half a dozen people falling all over themselves to tell me what to do next or how to do the thing i haven’t figured out yet
like there is a thing you have to do to upgrade the bomb bag, and i tried it and couldn’t figure it out
so i tweeted about this in a sort of self-reflective way, something like “hmm i can’t figure this out, i wonder if i need an item i don’t have yet”
which i thought pretty clearly meant: i’m still thinking about it, but if i actually can’t do it yet then i wouldn’t mind knowing that i’m wasting my time
instead two or three people told me about exactly the event i need to do and exactly where it is and when it happens?? i already know about that, but like. why would you do that? i didn’t ask for help, no one asked if i minded being told, everyone just wants to relive their nostalgia by hijacking my first playthrough
then the following day i tweeted about it again but explicitly said: can someone just tell me if this is possible to do yet
and someone still! told me! about the event and when and where it is!
i get that you’re very smart and had parents who actually loved you enough to buy you an N64 for christmas and know all the things about this game but goddamn
