there are now like half a dozen people saying i’m “entitled” or “harassing”

because i didn’t like one episode of a cartoon and took issue with the response a writer gave

you’d think the lord jesus h. christ himself descended from heaven to bless us with this episode, which by the way also cures cancer and saves kittens

entitled isn’t wrong, though. I mean, you are entitled to your opinion, just like every other person with enough individuality.

no i think i’m acting entitled to… good episodes???

clearly unreasonable

Last time I come at you, but no one was giving you a hard time for having qualms over the episode. Like I said, discussion is great. The big deal (at least, from my perspective) was over how rude you and purplekecleon came off toward an actual person who works on the show, hence people considering that “entitlement” like you wanted him to apologize and give you a non-“bullshit” answer like you honestly deserved it or something.

“last time i come at you”, says the person who spent several reblogs cracking jokes, and then couldn’t resist taking a peek at my blog to see if i’d said anything about it

“discussion is great”, says the person who called my criticism “petty little snipes” and made a point of saying “inconsistencies that actually aren’t there”

as i explained: i thought his reaction was rude. i don’t much care what he answers or doesn’t. but he answered in a way that i felt was effectively mocking his audience for caring enough to even think about continuity — in a show that tries to have strong continuity.

so really i just feel “entitled” to some common human decency such as not being scoffed at for giving enough of a crap about someone’s work to think about it critically. apparently neither you nor this writer feel that that’s important.

your attitude seems to be that creators are untouchable immortals, and we should feel blessed to choke down whatever they deign us worthy of being given. speaking as a creator: no.
